Mississippi Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann was selected as Chairman of the Republican Secretaries of State Committee in 2010. Elected as Mississippi Secretary of State in 2007, he ran an effective campaign, both on the air and on the ground. The race also bore one of the more memorable advertisements in the cycle, a television ad featuring a lady who just can’t seem to get the pronunciation of his name right seated next to Delbert on a park bench. The Secretary of State’s office in Mississippi plays many important roles, from managing business regulations to ensuring fair and accurate elections. One of Hosemann’s goals when he assumed office was to fight for business reform. Since elected in 2008, Secretary Hosemann has made great strides in reforming business laws in Mississippi. Secretary Hosemann has worked tirelessly to ensure a healthy business environment by reforming the State’s Securities, Corporate, Limited Liability Company, Trademark, Charity and Nonprofit laws to ensure Mississippi is poised for economic development and growth.
Secretary Hosemann has also led the fight for fair elections in Mississippi. Thanks to Hosemann’s dedication to cleaner elections, for the first time ever the Mississippi Secretary of State’s office has started a precedent of visiting precincts from around the state and issuing a report to the State Legislature. Under Hosemann’s leadership, elections in Mississippi are more fair and cleaner than ever.
Secretary Hosemann is up for re-election in 2011. The RSLC, through its Republican Secretaries of State Committee (RSSC), will continue to stand by him to support his candidacy, just as he has stood by citizens and businesses in Mississippi. Please contact RSSC Director Danielle Muckley for more information about how you can become involved to ensure Republicans like Secretary Hosemann are elected to this vital state office.
