Attorney General Greg Abbott
In the truest Texas tradition, Greg Abbott has been dedicated to enforcing the law and protecting Texas taxpayers ever since he was first elected as the 50th Attorney General of Texas in 2002. Shortly after taking office, General Abbott established a Cyber Crimes Unit to arrest criminals who use the Internet to prey upon children, and a Fugitive Unit to arrest convicted sex offenders who violate their parole. These and other law enforcement units within the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) have combined for more than 3,000 arrests during General Abbott’s tenure as the longest-serving attorney general in Texas history.
